A huge fan of the flattering styling of 1940s knitwear I was excited to find a 1947 Vogue Knitting Book amongst my stack of acquired and inherited knitting patterns. Here is the first of my modern day updates from the book, along with the picture that inspired it, knitted in Rowan Cashsoft 4ply.
Paula Guhin has done a great post on her blog, Mixed Media Manic, today. Aptly described as an Art Blog Buffet it shows examples of work, along with links to more, from members of the Mixed Media/Collage LinkedIn group. The pattern for my Glamour 3 sweater, exhibited at the Alexandra Palace Knit and Stitch show 2012, is in Yarnwise issue 56 which is in newsagents from today.
Nicky Barfoot hand knitted accessories are now available at Romsey’s newest art gallery, Rum’s Eg, in Bell Street, Romsey. Set in an attractive, listed building, it is a gallery and shop well stocked with work from talented local Makers and Artists, and with comprehensive opening hours over Christmas, it is well worth a visit!
I have just finished making some lovely knitted and felted cuffs which have been added to the accessories section in my shop. They are beautifully soft to wear and would make a great stocking filler if you are looking for a hand-crafted, original Christmas present.
