Always looking for ways to recycle and stash-bust, I have taken to messing around with stencils and fabric paints, followed by a bit of random stitch doodling on some of my UFOs. A bit of digital collage and manipulation later and a new piece of art work is born.
What a great but exhausting week at Ally Pally, chatting pretty much non stop for four days to the huge number of people who were interested in my work. Thanks to the Embroiderers Guild for selecting me as part of their Graduate Showcase; what a launch pad to be given. Such a shame I can’t make it to the sister shows at Harrogate and Dublin. The “Emo sweater” and “Boys Knit Too” wallhanging were big hits, with many people asking for a pattern for the former. A number of people were also interested in buying a copy of the graphic novel, “The Call of Jill” so I will be costing up a soft back version shortly. More information on both of these to follow so watch this space!
After a crazy morning of packing, my work is all bagged up. I’m now excitedly waiting for fellow neuf member, Kat Hansford, to squeeze me into her car alongside her larger than life exhibit, for our road trip to Ally Pally where we are exhibiting as part of the Embroiderers Guild Graduate Showcase. Bring it on!
